Jollibee Provides Meals to Frontliners against COVID19 in Butuan City


Bancasi, Butuan City – The Jollibee Foods Corporation (JFC) or simply known to common Filipinos as ‘Jollibee’ provided meals during lunchtime on April 6, 2020, to the frontliners against COVID19 stationed at the exit and entry points of Butuan City.

The Jollibee store located at JC Aquino Avenue Butuan City, one of the many stores of the leading fast food chain in the country, provided free meals with its signature Chicken Joy to the frontliners located at Brgy’s Sumilihon, Antongalon and Bancasi of Butuan City. 

The 402nd Infantry (Stingers) Brigade troopers under Brigadier General Maurito L Licudine, the Brigade Commander, facilitated the distribution of twenty-six buckets of Jollibee Chicken Joy meals to more than one hundred (100) frontliners at the Quarantine Control Points (QCP) composed of personnel from DOH, PNP, BFP and Army troopers coming from 23IB and 29IB under the operational control of 402nd Brigade and reservist volunteers from 15th Regional Community Defense Group (RCDG) of the Army Reserve Command.

Ms Rejeane Braga, the Store Manager of Jollibee Butuan, expressed her appreciation on the heroism of the frontliners at the Quarantine Control Points who are at high risk of being infected with COVID 19. She stressed that frontliners who meet numerous people from all walks of life seeking entry and exit at the QCP under the scorching heat of the sun is a no easy task which earned her high respect and lauded their exemplary feats. 

In his statement, Brigadier General Maurito L Licudine, Commander of the 402nd Brigade said, “First of all, our heartfelt gratitude to the leadership of Jollibee for being a Good Samaritan to our frontliners. The act is highly valued and boosted the morale not only of our troops but to other frontlines as well manning the quarantine control points every day. The support of the people on what we are doing has lifted our spirits and even strengthened our resolve to stay and continue the task at hand in combatting the spread of the COVID19 Virus”.

“In response, we remain committed together with partner agencies to perform our assigned task and mandated mission against this COVID19 pandemic. Your Army will ensure that it shall never fade and waver on its calling to serve the people and secure the land against any threats”, Brigadier General Licudine added.
