TAGO, Surigao del Sur, the army’s 36th Infantry (Valor) Battalion decries the 50 years of killings and deception of the Communist NPA Terrorist during the observance of All Souls day and All Saints day last November 1-2, 2019, in various municipalities/city of this province.

Soldiers of Army’s 36th Infantry (Valor) Battalion together with the former rebels, families, friends and general public expressed their condemnation against the atrocities and violence of the CPP-NPA terrorist. Also, a candle lighting was performed in remembrance to those fallen heroes, civilians, IP leaders, CAFGU, political leader and NPA members who have been killed because of the futile armed struggle of the CNT through those five decade.

Bae Magdalena Gano, one of the former rebels and an IP leader who joined the activity expressed her resentment to the CNT for killing one of the IP leaders in her municipality. “I hope that justice will prevail to those who were killed especially to my IP brother and sisters. As an ambassador of truth, I will stand and seek justice for those souls who are still crying for justice.” she said.

It can also be recalled that a CAFGU and an IP was kidnapped and later executed and beheaded by the CNTs in the Municipality of Lanuza just recently this year.
Ltc Jezreel Diagmel, Acting Commander, 36IB said “Fifty years of futile armed struggle have not solved any of our problems. It has caused more problems for our society and brought senseless deaths and miseries to hundreds of thousands of Filipinos and destroyed the future of many Filipino youth,” he said

“Let us pray for the soul of our brothers and sisters who left us and offer their ultimate sacrifice for our country. To the CNTs, killings will not solve our problems. Lay down your arms and return to the comfort of your families and friends. Live peacefully and take care of your children as they grow and become productive members of the community,” Ltc Diagmel ended. (J. Romorosa, CMO, 36IB) ###
